Our Deckhand to Captain Training Program (DTC) is designed by fishermen for fishermen to succeed in their journey to become owner-operators of their fishing vessels. Our Deckhand to Captain (DTC) Training Program is a 9-month program designed for fishermen looking to advance their careers and become owner-operators of their fishing boats. Trainees will gain hands-on experience running a successful small-boat commercial fishing business, on and off the water. With guidance from industry experts and mentorship from experienced fishermen, participants will develop essential skills in business management, financing, permitting, marketing, and safety training. Graduates and mentors will receive a stipend to support their businesses upon completion.
